Furlough Our Journey

We recently embarked on a 7 month journey to visit many family friends and churches that have been supporting us in prayer and financially for the last 5 years on the mission field here in Mexico. It is a bittersweet departure as we love our friends and family here in Zacatecas but look forward to seeing and spending time with those that we have not seen in over 5 years! We left our home early Saturday morning the 6th of May. We are so thankful that a sweet family from our church Manuel and Dulce with their little daughter Ruth will be staying in our home while we are gone.

First stop Gomez Palacio, Mexico. We had the privilege to visit some dear brothers and sisters in Christ from a church in Mexico on our way the states. Josh was able to preach on Sunday and Heather shared with a mothers and daughters group in the evening.

We were also invited to share meals with a variety of families.  On Sunday night we shared the late meal of the day the "Cena" with the Lopez family.  We have been hosting the Lopez family in our home in Zacatecas over the past year as they were seeking treatment for their daughter Gabby who was fighting cancer. We were blessed with the opportunity to see Gabby again on Sunday night and share great food and fellowship with the family. Sadly we received a call Thursday morning that Gabby had gone home to be with the Lord Wednesday night. We pray for the family as they grieve and are greatly sorrowed for this loss. This picture was with Gabby on the Sunday night before she passed away.

We greatly covet your prayers as we continue this journey of furlough and look forward to seeing many along the way.
