North Carolina to Oregon

After or visit with the Shiltons in Grandville Michigan we went to the Yates in Lake Orion Michigan. We had a good time reconnecting with our long time friends there.

From Lake Orion we went to Chicago. We stayed with the Stutzmans in their one bedroom studio type home and it was a lot of fun. We visited downtown Chicago saw the Giant Bean, waterfront and Buckingham Fountain.

From Chicago we drove 25 hours to Wilsall Montana. Surprisingly the drive was not bad beautiful scenery and even a stop at Wall Drug. If you don't know what that is don't worry you're not missing too much. We only stopped because there was 100 billboards in 100 miles. Great advertising, but in the middle of a 25 hr. drive, not much there to entice us to stay longer!

In Montana we stayed with the Inabnits. Josh's pastor from the Church he grew up in and parents of Tim and Sarah Inabnit our friends in Atlanta. The girls enjoyed horse riding and gopher hunting.

From Montana we went to Spokane. This part of the drive was especially enjoyable as we listened to the new This Hope CD enough to memorize it. In Spokane we spent time with our good friends from college Toby and Jenni Rainbow. Toby, Jenni, Josh and I have a lot of history from college days and it was really fun to hang out visit and share memories together. It helps that our two girls and their two oldest are the same age and have a lot in common also!

From Spokane we were on the home stretch. We left Spokane and made a stop in Pasco Washington for a few hours to share a meal with Josh's cousin and family Ryan and Kara Vogt. This was a great break in the drive and awesome to see Ryan and Kara serving the Lord in their home through Foster Care plus their own 2 kids pictured below.

We arrived in Eugene Oregon an hour south of Salem at 4:50 am on the 25th safe and sound, Praise The Lord!!! I am constantly amazed at God's faithfulness in our lives. Our trip home to Oregon was such a blessing in many ways. All of the places we stayed we were challenged in a new way seeing how each family was serving the Lord. When we were almost home Grace said to us, " it is really cool how all the people we have seen and many that we know are serving the Lord in some way through their life. " To our friends and family we thank you! The example, kindness, and sacrifices for Christ in your life is impacting us and we rejoice as we partner in the cause for Christ together!
