This year Christmas has had a different feel then the last 10 years. For us the most exciting part of the season is celebrating our Saviors birth as a family! Since Josh and I got married on December 18, 1999 we have never spent a holiday season apart from retail sales. It has been really fun to spend time as a family this year celebrating all the joys of December and the events leading up to Christ's birth.
Josh has been really busy and studying hard as he has started his mechanics class. He is learning a lot in class and getting the opportunity to put it to use in the shop daily. I have been working to create and plan our meals for the 3 month shopping we have to do January 1st. We need to have enough provisions (food and household) to last for 3 months. It has been challenging to figure out how much toilet paper and butter I will need. During this time we are also required to make all of our own bread. This will be fun as I have been doing that since we arrived in August but recently began grinding my own grain to make the bread more healthy for my family. In ladies class we also had a butter making course which was fun and the girls enjoyed helping.
Grace and Hattie participated in the choir cantata at Church last week and are both playing parts in the kids musical this week. Both girls are becoming game masters. Some of our families favorites are; Sequence, SkipBo, any Card games, Mancala, and I Spy. I am amazed at the time the girls spend playing make believe with their Polly Pockets. We recently spent an afternoon making a large Polly Pocket house out of card board and the girls have been busy ever since! It is so much fun to listen to their chatter and stories as they play.
We had our first evaluation after Thanksgiving and it went really well. So far they have decided to let us stay for the winter:) We just enjoyed a good snow storm the last few days and have had fun driving the four-wheeler in it. Thank goodness for that purchase as many families are stuck because some vehicles cannot get through the muddy, slushy, roads. We hope you have a wonderful Christmas celebrating our Saviors birth.

Love all the pictures! Enjoyed seeing the wall hangings and tree skirt I made, too! They look nice in your little cabin. Your tree is great, especially the star on the top! We love you all. Merry Christmas!
